This group page is such a wonderfully diverse page to be on.... positive focus on the breed we all are supposed to love and in many cases help. I've been doing rescue for 18 years now, my husband and I have fostered about 900-1000 Dobermans opening our hearts and homes to them. Starting small and fostering for other groups I learned quickly about "Doberman politics" and "Doberman people". I have NEVER once taken a DIME from the DPCA for my dogs, and benefited in NO way of ANY kind from my "membership" .... Rescuing them loving them, caring for them holding them as they passed on ...... all on ME. Feeding them, vetting them, I've never showed, I've never bred, but have ethically and morally cared for the Dobermans in my care. I run my own rescue and have for a number of years instead of being confined by the politics that drive these people. I have chosen to concentrate on hospice care, long term medical recovery care, the seniors and those who have been by-passed because they weren't "pretty" or "show quality". My entire day, every day and most of my life is tied up in giving back love and quality of life to this noble breed who has ALWAYS been far more deserving of US than we are of THEM. I will continue to quietly make a difference and dedicate myself to something very worth the time, energy and money ALL the time.
